Our Trip to Sioux Falls, SD......Day One

Mommy: We went to Sioux Falls, South Dakota this weekend for Hunter's basketball tournament, but we only seen one basketball game. We spent most of the weekend swimming! Hudson was a little nervous at first because it was packed with wild kids, but me and Jamie took him once it calmed down and he loved it! He jumped in, went down the slide, walked through the spouting water, and sat in the hot tub. It wasn't easy getting him out! Paxton didn't have quite as an eventful trip, but it was his first time out of state, and stay in a hotel.

Park Fun!!

Mommy: Finally, a day nice enough to walk to the park! And a new park, by our new house! At first I thought I'd be brave and try taking both boys by myself, but then I realized it would be much easier to wait for Jamie to come home from work and we can both go! We loaded up the boys in the double stroller for the first time and it worked pretty well. Hudson went down all the slides by himself, but his favorite is still the swings. Even Paxton got to try out swinging for his very first time. I think he'll enjoy it as much as his brother! We had a lot of fun, until the last picture when Hudson was scolding me! He pointed that finger and stuck out his eyebrows and told me, "No Mommy No!!" to any more pictures!

Hand-me-downs

Paxton: These are my big brother's clothes when he was a baby. Mommy says he only got to wear them once, and so will I! I must be bigger than him because he was older when he wore them. I'm in between sizes right now, outgrowing old clothes but too small for new ones.

Happy 18th Bday Logie!

Mommy: By the time I had my camera ready to take a picture of my boys, Hudson was getting ready to shove Paxton aside! He was ready for his jammies and helping Logie blow out her birthday candles.

P.S. Paxton's tear duct in his left eye finally opened and is looking so much better! Now we're just waiting on that pesky right eye!

Spring Chicken...

One baby at a time please!

Mommy: There will come a time when Paxton wants to do everything his big brother Hudson does, but for right now, its the exact opposite!

It's not what it looks like......

Although, we admit, any reason being hunched over the toilet is not a good reason! Here, Hudson is just mimicking Grandma, so we blame her for this less than sanitary behavior! She throws ladybugs, or as Hudson likes to call them "bubs" into the toilet, so......Hudson does the same thing. He gets so excited when he finds a bubs and goes running to the toilet to throw it in! Then he loves to watch the bubs swim, trying to save it's own life before the big bad Hudson flushes him down!

Weigh-in

Hudson: I stepped on the scale today to "weigh-in" like Grandma and my aunts do and I've been at a steady 26 lbs now for awhile! You'd think that since my favorite food is french fries I'd start bulking up!

Num-num Baby

Hudson: We went to Grandma and Grandpa's today and Grandma got out some of Mommy's old toys. This was my favorite! It was a jar of cherries and everytime you put the spoon in more cherries would appear, then you put it in your mouth and they'd disappear! I was giving Paxton some but the cherries didn't disappear right away so I had to stick the spoon WAAAAAY in!

Farm Show Fun

Hudson: We went to the Farm Show today! I got to pet baby chicks, goats, and bunnies! The goats licked my fingers! Mommy was nervous I was going to squeeze the heads off the baby chicks, but I was just hugging them and telling them "tweet, tweet". Daddy told me that Grandpa Ernie drove these green tractors. After the Farm Show we went to eat lunch and I had chicken nuggets, Daddy told me I was eating the Tweet Tweets that I just seen and then Mommy yelled at him.

Happy Boys

Mommy: I love seeing my boys so happy, together! I must look pretty silly to have them both laughing at me!

TV

Mommy: Hudson was showing Paxton how to play with the links toys until.....something more interesting came on TV and then it was like the world stopped and they were mesmerized!

Brody + Hudson = MONKEYS

Mommy: I took the boys over to Brody and Brenley's house to play and Hudson and Brody had quite a wild time, and all while Brenley and Paxton laid nicely together in the living room. Safe from the chaos!! The boys were like 2 monkeys jumping on the bed, running up and down the hallways, and riding Brody's rollercoaster. I can't imagine what they're like all day together at daycare?!?!?!

Cuddly Teddy Bear

I'm 2 months.......

Paxton: I'm 2 months old (and have been for 9 days but Mommy's a little behind)!! My favorite thing to do is of course, be held! But my second favorite thing is to lay on my Baby Einstein playmat. And now I can hit all the toys that are hanging from it and make even more noise! My favorite person is my mommy and I'm happiest when I'm with her. I can't help it, we spend everyday all day together! I like to talk, saying lots of coo's and awe's. I drink 5 ounces at a time, usually every 4 hours. Sometimes I sleep through the night, but if I don't, I only wake up once to eat, or sometimes just to snuggle in Mommy and Daddy's bed. I'm not a big fan of tummy time but I have really strong legs! When my Daddy grabs my arms to sit up, I go straight to my feet! I take several naps a day in the pack n' play, and I'll always fall asleep riding in the car! Mommy says its easy to take me places because I'll sleep on the way there and then stay sleeping in my carseat for hours! My only complaint is that my tear ducts haven't opened up yet and my eyes get watery and gunky. We pray every night that they open soon otherwise the doctor has to open them for me. So that's a little bit about me! I am a happy, growing boy!

Snow Day

Hudson: Me, Mommy, and Daddy went outside to play in the snow yesterday while Paxton stayed inside with Grandpa. It would have been a fun afternoon if Mom hadn't put me down in the snow and I sunk in, got stuck, and then fell over! I was not a big fan of that! My favorite part was when Daddy put up my swing! Brought back such nice memories of last summer!! In a quick fix though he had to hang me up really high. He says he'll fix that once it gets nicer outside. Those 2 old swings are coming down. Mommy says they're from 1980! Daddy pulled me around the big yard in my sled. I never knew he could run that fast! Maybe next time we'll borrow Brody's Dad's snowmobile, then my daddy doesn't have to work so hard!

Hudson: Love you Mommy!

Washing bottles....

Mommy: Okay, so I realize there is a big warning with the Bumbo chair to never put it on elevated surfaces (such as the countertop!!) but its so helpful in situations such as these. Paxton sat so nicely and watched me wash bottles. Never made a peep! He was probably wondering when he was going to get to drink one of those bottles!

Brotherly Love

Mommy: It's so nice to see Hudson playing with Paxton. Although this only lasted a couple minutes and he was saying, "Patton out!". Earlier in the day, Paxton was in his swing and he started to cry so Hudson ran over, lifted up the tray and tried giving baby his nuk. When that didn't work, Hudson said "Baby up!" and tried lifting him out, but when he realized he wasn't going to be able to lift him, he came and got me and said, "Baby cry!". Such a helpful brother!

Stroller

Paxton: I was trying out my seat of the double stroller. Mom doesn't like using my caresat in it so we were seeing how good I'd fit strapped in like a big boy. I was pretty comfy! Now I'm just patiently waiting for warm weather!

Professional Pics.....

We had Paxton's first professional pictures taken in February. They were done by Swaddlebee Photography and she came to our house to taken them. It was a really neat experience and worked well with the boys. The photographer was nice enough to take Hudson's picture as well, and a few family ones. We think they turned out really good! 2 Months.....

Paxton: I'm 2 months old now!! And I guess that means a trip to the doctor. The mean nurse (who Mommy says is actually really nice) poked me 3 times! I screamed when she was doing it, but thankfully it only hurt for a second so I stopped crying right away. And Mommy says I'm a good boy at the doctor just like my brother is. I laid still and let Dr. Frannie look in my eyes and ears, move my legs around, push on my tummy, and I even smiled for her! She says I'm perfect! I weigh 11 lbs, which is in the 28th% and am 23.5 inches long, which is the 67th%. Daddy was very happy to hear that I'm pretty tall, we're hoping I take after him and not Mom.

Baptized on 2-28-2010

Paxton: Today was MY day! I was baptized and all of my family came to see me. I was a really good boy, Mommy and Daddy were SOOOO proud of me! I was the only baby (out of 3) at church that didn't cry. I even smiled when the priest poured the water on my head, Daddy laughed. Thats me with my godparents, Dwight and Logie. My brother is giving his famous smile! Then me with my granparents and great-grandpa Ray. And to save the best for last, just me, all wrapped up in my baptism blanket giving Mommy a silly face!

Happy Birthday Sheri!

Hudson: It was our Aunt Sheri's birthday on the 28th, but since Paxton stole her thunder with his baptism, we celebrated on Saturday. I was a big helper, opening her presents and blowing out the candles. In the picture of me and her, I'm in the middle of singing "Happy Birthday To You". I've been singing it all week in preparation of her party. And those Friederich girls, Regan and Sidney, they just can't get enough of my little brother! They fight over him and don't want anyone else to hold him. Must be a girl thing! I'll throw him a few kisses now and then but I certainly don't need to hold him!
