Tubes are in!

We arrived at the hospital dark and early at 6:40am. Paxton entertained himself in the waiting room by the fire.
Since Daddy had a fishing trip planned, Mommy was single-parenting it today, trying my darndest to hold it together while my baby gets ready for surgery.
All suited up in the pink hospital jammies!
We had about an hour wait so we found whatever we could to pass the time; including playing with the antibacterial foam! And maybe washing our hair with it!

Paxton did a great job! He went right to the nurse without hesitation, leaving Mommy there to cry and pray for 30 minutes while I waited for my baby to be back in my arms. Before I knew it, I heard his cries from behind the operating room doors! Those cries lasted about 20 minutes and we were headed home. The second we stepped outside he smiled and I took a deep breath....we're done! At home he couldn't wait to eat and down some cold milk. I made him a waffle for breakfast....
And then had to make him another one, poor guy was starving......
And then just one more. He had surgery today, he gets whatever he wants! He didn't even stop eating to play!
And after some play time, he zonked out in the middle of the living room for a mid-morning cat nap.

Paxton's Day

For most kids, a trip to the doctor isn't a happy destination, but not for the Johnson boys! They both love being at the doctor, and today Pax got to go all by himself for his pre-op appointment (getting ear tubes on Thursday). Then this evening he had ECFE so it was a fun-filled afternoon!
Looking at the fish, or as Paxton calls them "shhhh".
Some waiting room fun!
We had a 2 week break from ECFE due to some crazy bomb threats and election night. Paxton was happy to get back in the swing of things, and he LOVED digging around in the rice table!
Alphabet Tree
And what better way to end the day than with a hug from your big brother!

Children's Museum Play Lab

Daddy and Grandpa headed to the Courtland fish fry and Mommy, Grandma, and the boys headed to the Play Lab in Mankato. It was a fun afternoon of playing, shopping, and eating!
Paxton held his own in a place full of BIG kids! He had a GREAT time running around, doing his own thing.
Hudson checking out just how things work.
Painting with water....why didn't we think of this?!?! Good, clean fun! Right up my alley!
Cruisin' around.

Handprint car.
He could amuse himself doing anything!
Tickling Grandma with a feather.

Concentrating on making a masterpiece.....

Another favorite face......

That says; "I'm done in the bathtub Mommy, and I'm starting to shiver. Please get me out."

Bunny spotting....

Looking at the bunny out the window.
The bunnies make homes under our deck during the winter and scurry under when they see us watching them. Spot the bunny??

Pizza Faces

We had pizza for dinner tonight and Paxton showed off his munchy, pizza mouth with many different faces.....
Could that double chinned, squinty eyed, chubby cheeked, toothy grin get any better??
Eying out the last piece of pizza.
Showing us what a piggy says.
And last but not least that beautiful, happy smile!!

Cupcake Sunday

After a trip to the grocery store with Hudsy, and a cart full of treats and snacks that weren't on our list, we got home to bake confetti cupcakes.
Hudson took frosting them very seriously!
But enjoyed licking it off his fingers even more. Lick, lick.....
Gone!! Delicious!!

Go, go, go!

Hudsy pushed Pax around the house...around and around and around again. Several times stopping to say, "He's really heavy Mommy."
And then he got the great idea to jump on with him and said, "I'm pooped out Mommy. You push both of us."

Mommy-Hudsy Date

Hudson and Mommy went on a Saturday afternoon date to the St. Peter McDonald's (with the playhouse) and the movie Gnomeo & Juliet.
Having his favorite, Shamrock shake. Not sure what we're going to do when St. Patty's day is over. I don't know if plain ole' chocolate will cover it?!?
Wondering just how high this tube tunnel goes??
This was Hudson's first trip to the movie theater, and surprising Mommy, he only picked one candy out of all those options!
I think he would've rather seen the pirate movie.
He sat back, ate his candy and popcorn, and enjoyed the movie.....for about 30 minutes. Then he told Mommy that he wanted a different movie on, or he'd rather just go home and watch one on the couch.

Grandma Time

Grandma cuddled on the couch with the boys....well, with 2 boys, there wasn't much cuddling going on, and more squiggling, jumping, and giggling.
But once they settled down a bit, and got jammies on, Hudson and Grandma did some serious cuddling. Hudson put his arm around Grandma and rubbed her back. Sweet!

Dancie-dance!

This little radio was a favorite of Hudson's, and now is a favorite of Paxton's! We all love the songs, but even more than that, we love watching the boys dance their little hearts out.

Game Night

Daddy and the boys had a little game night. First they played Hungry, Hungry Hippo and then Elefun! There was lots of smiles, lots of jumping, and lots of giggles!!
Hudson's "2 hand" technique.
Clearly, Paxton thought he won!!
Ready for the flying butterflies!!
Paxton had a different technique--bend down, pick up the butterflies, and put them in his net....simple, and much more effective!
Making time for a quick hug!
The excitement of catching a butterfly. Sweet victory!
