with the nordbys

On the days the boys go to daycare, we usually walk them there in the morning and back in the afternoon. Today was extra special because we walked an extra 3 kids back with us! Brody, Brenley, and Bayler came over for awhile this afternoon and the kids had crazy fun playing together outside.
They had all 3 power wheels going.
The babies sat back and watched the playful chaos.
This was her first time in the double stroller and to my surprise, she sat perfectly!
The tramp was a favorite. Brenley was a timid at first, sitting on Jamie's lap, but soon enough she went wild with the big boys....
As evident by her smile in this picture!
My look alike kids, according to most people.
The biggest boys and their stuffed animals.
Jamie was the biggest kid and jumped on the tramp, popping them like popcorn. Their laughter filled the neighborhood!
And all that tuckered this little girl right out.

three months

Harlow is three months old- August 8, 2012.

At three months old......
weight: 11 lbs (according to home scale)
length: 23 inches (stretched!)
diaper size: size 1
clothes: mostly newborn, 3 month if their small or shrunken (bottoms are still huge)
bottles: 4 oz. every 3 hours
Little things about Harlow.....
-she is a nighttime sleeper, down between 9:30-10:30pm until about 7:00am (sometimes later), then back to sleep until 10:30am (sometimes later)
-daytime naps have been cut shorter, she takes more often cat naps
-loves her playmat and will quickly let you know when the lights turn off by making whiny noises, and she also bats at the hanging toys
-she wants to eat every 3 hours but doesn't really care about it when she is, sometimes even spitting the bottle out after half gone, but will eventually finish it
-no rolling yet but she tries, and can scoot herself around in all directions
-still being swaddled at night, and when those arms come loose, she immediately wakes up
-likes to sit in the Bumbo chair and watch anything I'm doing
-will be held by anyone unless she's tired, then only wants her mama
-tolerating the swing a little better and has actually fallen asleep in it a few times
-smiles very easily, and sometimes so big she coughs, no giggles yet though
-I'm convinced she likes watching the Olympics on TV
-grabs and chews on the hanging toys in her carseat
-got her first stuffy nose
-figured out she's a great car rider unless someone is sitting next to her, then she gets frustrated and wants out
-gets her toenails polished while she's asleep :)
-she might have a big ego because I tell her just how beautiful she is several times a day!

Camping 2012

Since we missed our annual camping trip over Memorial Day weekend, we went as a family last weekend. The trip was cut short by the storm that went through on Friday night, and poor Daddy was stuck camping alone while the boys and I held out until Saturday morning. I was too afraid the camper would blow away in the "damaging winds and golf ball sized hail". So the fun started on Saturday with lunch in the camper, then headed to the waterpark, and back for supper and a fire. You'll notice there aren't many pictures of Hudson. He LOVES camping, and is far too busy having the time of his life to stop for any pictures!
Lunch in the camper.
 Cheese!!
At the waterpark. He's got the greatest smile.....really!?!?! I long for the day that I ask for smiles and actually get a GOOD, genuine smile.
Hudson showing off his swimming skills. He's a pro with those wings on.
 Snack time at the pool.
Pax and Daddy by the fire.
At the park, they'd fly down the slides so fast I couldn't get my camera to catch them in time.
The cousins stopped by for a quick visit; front row- Pax, Bryce, (friend Mitchell), and Hudson, back row-Morgan, Alyssa, Declyn, and Kendra.
They asked to do a silly one as well, and it was amazing how fast they were all able to transform themselves into this....
Hudson made it is job to stock the dump truck with wood for Daddy's fire.
Daddy popped popcorn over the fire, and it was at that time when Hudson declared this to be "the best day ever"!!!
But with all those fun activities, I still think just hanging out in the camper is their favorite thing to do. Dad says he could just pull the camper into our backyard and they'd love it just as much. Probably true.
And this princess stayed home with Grandma. She sent me this picture of her while on a walk. While we were gone, Hudson asked me, "Do you miss Sister?", and I sure did!

Monday morning ...

We made an early morning trip to the doctor. Pax has an ear infection....in August. And his tubes are no longer in place, which probably means more bad news in the future. But once again, he was a champ. We had to see a different doctor and she told him she is certain she's never had a patient so cooperative! I had her check Harlow's ears since we were there because she's had a stuffy nose lately but so far she's all good! I won't hold my breath though, I'm sure she'll take after her brothers in the ear department. After the doctor, we headed to the park. Hunter met us there and the boys showed off how brave they've gotten, and she took Harlow down her first slide.

Harlow's Bath

Harlow loves bath time in the big bath. I lay her on the big yellow sponge and she kicks and splashes, all with huge smiles!
And she even loves getting out! First kid I've had that doesn't scream when bath time is over.

Toy Mountain

Hudson and Paxton made a mountain made of toys. They took a lot of trips up and down the steps to get all those toys into Mommy and Daddy's bedroom. And the toys are still there!

in the Bumbo

Harlow has been enjoying time in the Bumbo seat. And I loved every expression she made, so here's a bunch of pictures of just her in her seat.
"That Sophie giraffe is so cute I just wanna eat it!"
The determination look...if she could just grab those toys. Even the toes are curled tight!
This look says, "I give up, dang toys just won't jump to my hands."
 But it's still fun!!

not just for girls

I signed the boys up for gymnastics, against Daddy's wishes. But at their ages, there just isn't much for boys to do, and gymnastics is more about running around, learning to listen to directions, and acting like a monkey. And they loved it! Hudson exclaimed that he was staying there forever! And Mama was proud! They waited patiently, listened intently, and tried their very best. Little brother took direction from big, followed his lead, and at one point, they giggled together and Hudson hugged him and said, "Are you having fun Buddy?" Ugh. Tears welled in my eyes. I love how close these two are. They can fight with the best of them, but the love and fun far outweighs that, and that is exactly what I've always hoped for.

Little brother has skill. He's flexible and has good form. He straightens his legs and points his toes.

This one on the other hand, not quite as coordinated.
He's just there to act like a monkey.
Sorry Dad, the boys loved gymnastics!
