Crawling is for the birds......

At only 6 months, Paxton has pretty much mastered crawling. He can get wherever he wants on those hands and knees! So now he's decided to try something new, on his hands and feet!

Water babies.....

We went to Lincoln Park with Sheri, Carson, and Hunter. Again, both boys loved it! I think Paxton could sit in the water, splashing and watching everyone swim all day long. And Hudson loves playing with water toys! He was not a happy camper when we had to leave, but thankfully we were going to get his haircut, something else he loves doing!

Bubble Bath

Paxton's favorite bath toys are these 2 floating eggs. He tries with all he has, splashing like crazy to get a hold of them.
Such an innocent, precious face with those big, brown eyes. And I usually don't see it, but I think he looks like Hudson in this picture.

Toddler Proofing Fails

Hudson has learned to position the bag of straws in the front of the locked drawer to have access to them at all times! So much for toddler proofing! He sneaks into the kitchen, opens the drawer as far as it will go, grabs a straw, sneaks back into the living room and places the straw into Mommy's or Daddy's pop and drinks it up! This is just the beginning of what we're in for with this one!

HOTEL

We stayed in a hotel Saturday night and Hudson picked to sleep in Grandma's bed! Lucky Grandma! Paxton slept in the pack n' play. We have been blessed with great sleepers! Paxton sleeps through the night, usually wakes up around 7am to have breakfast, but then sleeps again until 9 or 10am. And Hudson will sleep until 10am or later, or we have to wake him up to begin the day!

Brothers.....

The have these adorable "Big Brother/Little Brother" shirts that they wore this weekend. And little brother Paxton sat so nicely for Mommy to take his picture but..........

........big brother Hudson DID NOT want his picture taken, especially next to Baby Brother. And to make matters worse, Baby Brother had the guts to just TOUCH Hudson and all went down hill from there! Poor Paxton has yet to get on Hudson's good side. So please just picture 2 boys, cute as can be, in their matching shirts. Maybe I'll try again another day.....MAYBE!!

Another day at the Friederich's

We went to Bloomington to help Maddi move into her new apartment, and decided to take an afternoon break at Ryan and Liz's house to swim in the pool. It was much warmer this time, tempting Hudson to jump in and he loved it! Not to be outdone though by Daddy who I'm pretty sure loved it even more! Attempting tricks off the diving board he called "triple sow cows".

"Should we go in Daddy? Or just dip our toes in?"
Just getting warmed up; Hudson, Daddy, Sheri, Sidney, Hunter, and Ryan.
Ready or not, here Hudsy comes!!!
WEEEEE!!!!!!
Relaxing on the floatie.
And Paxton got worn out just watching all the fun and snoozed on Uncle Arnie's lap.

Brother Bathtub

And a day at Flandrau calls for bathtime right when we get home! Surprisingly enough, Hudson agreed to have his baby brother in the bathtub with him! And even more surprising, neither one of them splashed the other out of the tub!
I think Paxton's face in this picture says, "Don't look now Mommy but I'm about to blow this pop stand and get out of my chair!" It also might be the cutest face I've ever seen!

FLANDRAU

Grandma, Sheri, Carson, myself, and both boys spent the afternoon at Flandrau today. It was the first trip for both Hudson and Paxton, and they both LOVED it!! Hudson enjoyed playing in the sand AND swimming. And Paxton splashed away in the water and enjoyed a nap in the shade on Grandma. Hudson had some friends from daycare there, he swam like a fish with Afton and Bubba, even dipped his head in the water! And 4 hours later we still had to fib to Hudson that the whistle meant the pool was closing and everyone had to go home or we would have never gotten him out of there!

Taking out the laundry.....

Mommy gave Paxton a ride in the laundry basket and he laughed the whole time! Then Hudson showed his love and tried to dump him while saying, "Fall out Baby Brother, fall out!" I hope one day he'll love his little brother!

6 MONTH STATS

Paxton had his 6 month doctor appointment today. He did a great job and was a very brave boy! Takes after his big brother! Our doctor said the 2 Johnson boys are her best patients! Instead of fear and cries, they give her smiles and laughs! Paxton weighed 16 lbs, which is the 18th percentile, and is 27 1/4 inches long, in the 73rd percentile. 73rd!!!!!!! That's the highest percentile for length I have ever heard at the doctor!!! Looks like Paxton might be our tall and thin boy! But even better news, Paxton's tear duct has opened and his eye is finally clear of all ooze and goo!!! I couldn't be happier! Look at those beautiful eyes now!

Final Birthday Celebration

The storms postponed Hudson's birthday party on the Johnson side so we finally got to Happy Joe's last night. Hudson's and cousin Declyn's birthdays are only one day apart so we celebrate them together.
Hudson stuffed his face with macaroni, chicken, tator tots, toast, and pizza! He must be catching up from when he was sick.
Paxton taking a lesson from his big brother and just holding his "da-do"!
The 2 birthday boys, Declyn and Hudson. Opening presents with Kendra and Bryce's help. They gave him a Toy Story scooter!
Aunt Lori had this cake made with their pictures. It says "#1 Hunter". That's for Declyn because my boys won't hunt.....right!?!?!?

Mini-Birthday Party

Meredith brought Brody and Brenley over to celebrate Hudson's birthday. It took us awhile with all the coughs, ear infections, and fevers in this house, but finally we're back to normal (knock on wood!) and we can go back to playing again! Paxton and Brenley relaxed outside and watched their brothers cause trouble! Brody loved driving Hudson's truck all around the yard, and they both took joy in throwing rocks in the pool (which unfortunately already has holes in it). Thanks Nordby's, for Hudson's gifts and the playdate!

What's worse???

This smile?????
Or this tongue???
We've been tolerating Hudson's "smile" for months now, never getting a nice picture of him, and now it seems we'll have to tolerate Paxton's tongue as it is ALWAYS hanging out! And when I say always, I mean constantly! Unless he is crying or laughing hysterically, that cute little pointy tongue is peeking out of his mouth. Sibling pictures will be quite a sight to see!

New (old) Toy

We got out Hudson's walk-around toy today and Paxton enjoyed snooping around each and every new toy. Although he had to be pushed because he can't quite figure out how to walk yet, still thinks its a jumpie and tried to hop his way around.

Happy 4th of July!!

After the boys took their long overdue 4 hour naps, we headed out to Uncle Lon and Vicky's for games, grilling and fireworks. Hudson was kidnapped by Maddi and Logan, along with my camera. They tempted him into the cornfield and woods! Paxton enjoyed his first 4th of July with his tongue hanging out and sunggling with cousin Tammy. This was Hudson's 2nd night of fireworks and although he likes them, making lots of sighing noises, and saying "Cool!" and "Big one!" he is easily distracted by everything else around him. I'm just thankful my boys are finally feeling better and could enjoy the holiday with family.

Hudson's Zoo

Hudson made his own little zoo by growing animals in a cup! He thought it was so fun dropping the tablet in the water and seeing what it was going to be. Thanks for the fun Maddi, he even remembered you got them for him!

Break from a rough day.....

Paxton is taking after his big brother and got his first ear infection. I fear it's the first of many, but I'll keep my fingers crossed we don't travel down that path again! He and I had a rough Thursday night, only sleeping for minutes here and there, and then spending Friday snuggling and crying. But his medication kicked in for about 2 hours and relieved his pain enough for him to enjoy the pool for a bit. He splashed like crazy, trying with all his might to get away from Grandma's tight grip and swim on his own. And after all the fun, we went back to the snuggling and the crying. I sure wish amoxicillin worked better, or at all, but its doctor's orders.
