Granparent's Day 2011

The boys made Grandma and Grandpa a stepping stone for Grandparent's Day today. They put their handprints in, well, Hudson put his handprint in, Paxton put his hand "blob" in. Once his little fingers touched the cement, he just wanted to squish it!

Happy Grandparent's Day! We love you so much and don't know what we'd do without you. The boys love their "Gromma and Grompa" with all their hearts!

Hudsy's 1st Day of Preschool

Hudson went to his very first day of preschool. He was excited about everything; his new Cars back pack, playing with toys, meeting new friends, and having snack! He wasn't so thrilled with the idea that he'd be doing it all without his Mommy and Daddy.

Showing off the back pack that he picked out.

It's almost bigger than him!
Mommy and her preschooler.

This is what Pax thought about his big brother going to school. He cried from the driveway.

Anxious to get going.

He told me his back pack was kind of heavy and he'd rather me just carry it and him. Not surprising from my lazy bones!

He was still so excited when we got there. Ran right in and started playing with all the toys and talking to new friends. But silly Mommy, just couldn't leave without a hug goodbye, and then the tears came, from both of us. "You stay here too, don't leave me." Ripped my heart right out. Thankfully Daddy was with and gave Mommy strength to walk out the door. We eaves dropped in the hallway long enough to hear him stop crying. But when I picked him up he said he had fun, and was very proud to show me what was in his back pack; a book he got from the library and homework! He told us all about reading books, singing a song, playing toys, going outside to the park, and eating a snack; cherry yogurt which he said isn't his favorite but he ate it anyway, and he picked chocolate milk but there was really white milk inside but he drank that anyway too :) Oh, the fun stories we'll here from school!

Hudsy's 1st Dentist Visit

Hudson was very excited for his first dentist visit since he loves going to the doctor, but Mommy was still a little anxious because he didn't know what to expect. But I should've known better....he loved it! L-O-V-E-D it!!!!! And even better than that, the dentist said his 20 teeth look great!

While we waited, he thought this tooth chair was hilarious!

After asking the dental hygenist what all her tools were for, and requesting rubber gloves of his own, to which she happily obliged, they counted his teeth...10 on bottom and 10 on top. And then she cleaned and flossed all 20.
His favorite part was getting a squirt of water! He thought that was the greatest thing ever.

And because this dentist office is all about kids, they let Hudson do whatever he wanted, and he wanted more of that water! He even tried to spray the hygenist!

And racked up their water bill by quenching his thirst!

And after all that fun, the dentist finally came around to check his teeth again. He laid there quietly, nodding his head "yes" or "no" to all of his questions. The dentist suggested Hudson start working there, told him its fun to go to work in your jammies, and called him Dr. Hudson. Said he's never had such a pleasant patient that was so interested in everything!

This kid is continuing to make Mommy teary-eyed with pride! And when I asked where he liked going better, the doctor or the dentist, he replied, "The dentist, but just because I don't get shots there. But I still like the doctor too!" Of course you do you strange boy! You truly are one of a kind.

POTTY PARTY!!

This family had a HUGE celebration....a POTTY PARTY!! Our young man FINALLY went potty on the toilet! After almost a year of trying (on and off), with a frustrating boy that has a mind of his own, a mind that over analyzes everything, he finally gave in!! His first success was at daycare and we can't thank Shell enough! And as silly as it sounds, all of this warranted our celebration! Family came over, gifts were given, we had balloons and cupcakes, even wine for the adults and kid wine for Hudson! Because this was not only a celebration for Hudson, but also for the Mommy and Daddy that have tried everything to get him to go (something that brought this Mommy to tears more than once), and for a Grandma that gained more gray hairs from the training process, and for aunts that promised Hudson nothing short of the world if he would JUST GO POTTY!

Carson giving Hudsy the present that he brought all on his own. The lei he got at his first day of school, and his Happy Meal toy. How sweet!

Hudsy playing, Paxton in awe.
Ecstatic with his presents from Sheri! CANDY!!! And a book and money, but most importantly CANDY!

Ditty not only brought Hot Wheels, candy, and lip stuff, but she also brought the life of the party.....wine and kids wine!

Proud hugs from Sheri.

CHEERS!!!!

He's filling up his sticker chart and soon will take a trip to the store with Grandma and buy WHATEVER HE WANTS!!!

We are SOOOO proud of you Hudson Alexander! Congratulations on becoming a BIG BOY!

Raw Corn??

The boys are always trying to sneak over to the neighbors behind our house because they have a garden where the boys like to pick fresh vegetables. On Monday afternoon, they ran over to see if there were any red tomatoes ready to be picked and eaten, and they were pleasantly surprised by what they found! Not only were there red tomatoes, but the neighbors were also getting ready to can some corn and again, to my surprise, both Hudson and Paxton loved to eat the raw sweet corn!

Movie Time

Almost everyday, the boys watch a movie together in the toy room. Sometimes it lasts 5 minutes, sometimes a full (short) movie. And I still love to hear Hudson ask his brother if he'll watch a movie with him, and seeing them share a seat.

Cousin Carson

Cousin Carson came over on Saturday and the boys did some non-stop playing while he was here. With a short break for lunch in the playhouse. Carson's choice; mac n' cheese and hotdogs.

After a game of kickball with Daddy, they played a round of golf.

RiverBlast

This evening, we headed down to the shores of the Minnesota River to enjoy some music from Lucky Jones and The Ramblin' Gamblers. Paxton met a new friend, Henry! We finally got to meet little Henry in person and he's just as cute as he is on his and the Jones/Nordby blogs! I rarely think Paxton looks big, but next to a 5 month old baby, he really looked like a toddler.

The little ones, Paxton and Brenley, tried to keep up with the big kids dancing......
but found more fun in putting grass in Brenley's shoes!

These two, Hudsy and Brody, were wild men! Running and dancing! Brody even got me out on the dance floor. We both broke a sweat!

Who can do a better split?

Bustin' a move!

"Stuck!"

As I was cleaning up in the kitchen, I heard my mom burst out into hilarious laughter and yell for me to run into the living room, as she was reassuring Paxton she'd help in just a second....this is what I found.......Doesn't look so bad, right? Paxton just asking for help, but then he kept saying "Stuck! Stuck! Stuck!"......and Grandma realized what really happened.....

His shorts (diaper and all!!) got hooked on the coffee table knob and he was "stuck", with his white, bare little butt out for the world to see! We couldn't help but laugh, and of course run for the camera!

MN State Fair 2011

We took our annual trip to the State Fair on Tuesday. It was a bit chilly, and a bit wet at times, but we still had a good time. And the boys had a GREAT time! Hudsy wanted to go back today.

They rode on all the rides they were tall enough for.

Some were so interesting that they couldn't even glance over for a picture!

Hudsy showing Pax the ropes and how to beep the horn.

Hudson even rode the rides that made Mommy a little nervous! This big pirate ship was his favorite. He rode with Hunter, laughing and screaming outloud!

We walked through the Children's Barnyard. They boys looked adorable in the aprons.

Farmer Mommy and Sheep Paxton

Lil' Planter

Hudson says his favorite part was squeezing the milk out of the cows.

The fair takes a lot out of my boys.

Hudson's last request was to go on the Sky Ride. Grandma and Mommy were a little nervous but the boys thought it was great, and funny.

The view from up here....looking at the big slide.

Once again, the Minnesota State Fair turns out to be one of our favorite places!
