Harlow is two months old- July 8, 2012

At two months old........
weight: 10-10.5 lbs (according to home scale)
length: 22 inches
diaper size: size 1
clothes: newborn (but growing out of newborn sleepers)
bottles: 3 oz. every 3 hours (just started 4 oz.)
Little things about Harlow.....
-nighttime routine is asleep between 9:30-11pm until 7:00am, eats and back to sleep until 10-10:30am
-she loves her tongue, takes after her brothers! (take the last picture for example)
-she likes to be left alone, she's best at calming herself, and often falls asleep on the floor
-she smiles at me as soon as she wakes up
-mommy successfully switched her from avent pacifiers to the nuk brand :)
-she usually takes one long nap (about 2-3 hours) and a few shorter cat naps
-she likes looking in her Baby Einstein mirror, watching TV, and looking out the window
-when you talk to her, she'll make noises back to you
-she seems to enjoy mommy's many photo sessions
-unfortunately, daddy isn't her favorite person quite yet
-she has loud, rambunctious brothers and handles the noise well
-she loves sleeping in mommy's bed when daddy leaves for work
-always falls asleep in the car and will stay sleeping while running errands
-she was baptized today, July 8th, and was an angel, smiled when the priest blessed her with the water
-Mommy still thinks she's the most beautiful girl in the entire world!!

Swimming!!

Mom and Grandma took the kids to one of the kiddie pools in town today. We spent the entire afternoon there and I honestly had the time of my life. Watching those 2 boys swim and have SO MUCH fun is a true blessing.

This kid is fearless in the water! He goes under, and I'm about ready to save his life, but he comes up, wipes his face and says, "I'm swimming!!". He loves it.
He spent a lot of time "floating". Grandma taught him, and man alive, she is a floating master!
Harlow was with too. She slept for most of the afternoon, but woke up to take in a few rays of sunlight.

our kids

she's beautiful
but sometimes wonders why i take so many pictures of her

and hudson trying to put it back in

4 year stats...

Hudson had his 4 year doctor appointment today, and I know I say it every time, but I was so proud of him. To say he loves it at the doctor is putting it mildly. Both boys do, Pax even had to come with, and he gave Dr. Frani his sad, puppy dog eyes so she'd check him too! Hudson is a healthy, not growing quite so much, little boy. He weighs 34 lbs, which is in the 30th percentile, and is 39 inches tall, only the 21st percentile. Quite the shrimp, and so far, unfortunately taking after his mom. He hopped up on the bed and let Dr. Frani check him over, as always, reminding her of anything she might forget to check. And when she pushed on his tummy he told her, "Well, me and Packy did have one chocolate bar before we came." She giggled and assured him that one chocolate bar a day is okay, and then told him she felt right where it was in his tummy. The boys sure make trips to the doctor's office fun!

last night in toddler bed

Partly for this reason......
........tonight will be Packy's last night in his toddler bed. (Jamie would like me to remind everyone here that he JUST turned that crib into a toddler bed and now I'm making him switch it again. Blah, blah, blah.) Although he loves it SOOOO much, he's just outgrowing it. And its becoming a hazard. Shortly after I took this picture, he got his foot stuck between the mattress and the rails. But he sure does love his bed, just like he loved his "cribbie". He asks to go to bed at night and for naps, and I'm sure hoping that doesn't change once he's in his big boy bed (full size). But with every sleeping routine that we've had to change (Hudson going into a full size bed, taking his do-dos away, moving them in together), I've been nervous that it wouldn't turn out well, and those boys have always proved me wrong. So good night Packy, for the last time in your "cribbie".

4th of July

The night of the 3rd, we drove out to Cambria to watch the fireworks. Harlow stayed sleeping in her carseat, but the 4 of us gathered in the front seats of the car, safe from the heat and mosquitos.
The boys were very excited for the fireworks. Hudson commented on each and every one, and Paxton clapped.
During the day on the 4th, the boys spent the afternoon in the pools outside.
Then, per tradition, we headed out to the Ahlnesses for food and fireworks. It was a scorcher outside, but we had a nice breeze out back so we could still enjoy the outdoors.
Harlow in her red, white, and blue.
Hunter took the boys swimming in the hot tub....Vicky filled it with cold water. Perfect.

The boys in their July 4th shirts.
 Giving a little love.
 Pax loves smokers.
And Grandpa brought a truckload of fireworks. They put on a good show! And Hanska topped it off with about 12 minutes of a nonstop, AWESOME show!!!! Despite the heat, we had a really nice holiday with family.

monday

Since we were under a heat advisory today, we thought we'd get outside early this morning before temperatures hit 100 degrees. Even Harlow laid out on the deck in the shade.
While Hudson drove around (and around, and around, and around) the yard in his new dune buggy, Packy blew bubbles for Harlow to watch.
This afternoon Maddi and Hunter came over to play. Maddi and Zev bought Hudson an Easy Bake Oven for his birthday (haha!) so they made cupcakes.
 Harlow watched.
Hunter played "restaurant" with the boys. Packy was taking her order.
And then they had a tea party. It was so cute. They changed into dressy shirts and Daddy's hats.
It can be so much fun seeing what these boys come up with. Packy thought banging the drum on his head was hilarious!
And that was our Monday.

in the pool

The boys spent the 95 degree Sunday in the pools with Grandma (who instructed she NOT be in any pictures!). They swam, jumped, squirted, and splashed.

A Wubbzy Party

Still hard to believe my baby turned 4 years old. I hope this year lasts forever because a 5 year old is unfathomable! We celebrated again with a big birthday party....a Wow! Wow! Wubbzy birthday party. Mom and the birthday boy.
Our first family picture. I'm somewhat impressed, even with Paxton's roaming eyes and Hudson's faker than fake smile.
The girls and boys went from pool to pool, keeping cool in the hotter than hot heat!

 Wubbzy birthday hats!!!
Hudsy and Sidney are the best of pals when they get together.
Happy Birthday to you Hudson Alexander!
His big present from Grandma and Grandpa...the anticipation......
 A dune buggy!!
Happy 4th Birthday Buddy! Daddy, Mommy, Packy, and Harlow love you SOOO much!
