nine months

Harlow is nine months old- February 8, 2013

IMPOSSIBLE to get any good pictures of her!! None, not one! She was either chewing on her Disney dolls, crawling away, or standing with her back to me. This girl is unreal.
And check out that first bow! A little much so we opted for a smaller flower.

Gotta love that scrunchie nose! Paxton Junior.
At nine months old......
weight: 16 lbs 5 oz (10th percentile)
length: 27 1/4 inches (40th percentile)
diaper size: just moved to size 3 (Pampers because she's sensitive)
clothes: 6 month, some 9 month
bottles: 5 oz. 3-4 times a day
food: eats baby food when forced, LOVES real food and snacks!!
Little things about Harlow.....
-you can't let this girl out of your sight; however, I do and she gets into trouble
-she would eat all day if we let her, whines when its baby food and attacks you for real food
-foods she's had- noodle casseroles, toast, french fries, cake/ice cream, hotdog (inside cut out)
-she can finally sit
-if you ask her to "dancie dance" she'll show her best bob up and down
-she waves bye-bye and its a princess wave
-shakes her head no-no to everything you ask her and its pretty funny
-she has 6 teeth- 4 on top and 2 on bottom
-still very much a mama's girl
-she can wear a barrette in her hair and it actually stays in
-she can climb steps and its mommy's worst nightmare
-her favorite snack is Bella's food, and dropping the food into the water because that's fun
-she's usually standing (while holding on) and can bend down to pick things up
-she's taken some steps while holding on to furniture
-when you ask her to say "mama" or "dada" she tries and it sometimes comes out right
-she can suck from a straw and drinks water at meals
-if you ask for a kiss she'll make a kissy noise by smacking her lips
-daycare is pretty much the only person who can take her away from me and she doesn't care
-still spits up, and now with real food, it stinks!
-to say she hates diapers changes and getting dressed isn't even close to how awful it really is
-can hold her own bottle
-still a great sleeper, naps and nights
-absolutely loves when her brothers visit her in her crib
-at only 16 lbs and 27 inches tall, she's practically a super model in the making :)

sunday crafts

It was a crafting Sunday and the boys loved it. They begged me to "look on my phone for more things to do". I got these ideas from Pinterest and Hudson just laid my phone next to him and he followed the steps and directions perfectly. And they both impressed me with their cutting skills! We made Valentines puppies and initial paintings. (As you can see, Pax lives in his dragon costume, which his imagination has turned into a flying monkey from the Wizard of Oz now, and DO NOT tell him otherwise!!!)

Hudson wrote his name on the bottom of his puppy, and I asked Paxton to write a "P" for Pax, he said okay, and wrote a perfect "H". Uh-oh! I think someone is a little confused.
She entertained herself while we worked. Practicing her ballet skills all the way up on those tippy-toes, eating her dolls, and waving that pretty wave.
 I love Sundays!!!

Regan is 7!!

Happy 7th Birthday Regan!! We had a great time celebrating you.
Regan & Harlow. Harlow and her first experience with an American Girl doll. Pax & Sid with the dolls by the doll fireplace. Harlow & balloons. Grandma & Hudson. All the kids.

a couple harlow videos

Harlow has become a little spoiled eating "real" food and whines after every baby food bite. It's quite silly.
This is kind of a boring 3 minutes, but it just shows a little bit of what Harlow is up to. If you can stick it out the whole 3 minutes she crawls, waves bye-bye, and dances. Exciting stuff you know! She's naked because its a struggle to change her diaper and dress her, and she usually wins the battle. She's by the back door because Bella's food is on the other side and its her favorite snack. She keeps us on our toes, to say the least!

Paxton's 3 year pictures and stats

Pictures courtesy of Grandma Marsha (Marsha Jones Photography)
He's THREE!!
And he's so handsome!
And so silly!
But these last 2 crack me up! First he gives his best smoldering look, and then that tongue comes out.
At his 3 year doctor visit, he weighed 32 lbs. and 8 oz., putting him in the 56th percentile, and was 38 inches tall, in the 55th percentile. Our perfectly sized boy!!

Sporties 4 Shorties

Hudson participated in Sporties 4 Shorties this winter and loved it!! It was a four week class for four year olds, and every week they tried a different sport. Hudson learned some volleyball skills, how to relay race, hockey skills (where he skated for the first time withOUT the walker!!), and basketball. I learned some things about my little guy; if he puts his mind to doing something he is going to try SO hard to do it right, and he'll be good at it....unless he's not, then he isn't happy with himself. He's a perfectionist already. He didn't "race" in the relay because he did NOT want to drop the ball because to him that meant failure. It took a lot for him to let go of the walker at hockey because he hadn't fallen yet and skating on his own was a risk. But he took the risk because he wanted me to be proud, and that is something else that's very important to him. When we left the last class he asked me, "Mom, do you care if the other kids are good at basketball?" I told him no I didn't, the only thing I cared about was if he liked it and had fun. Hudson is sensitive and easily frustrated, but he is determined. And sometimes all those qualities wrapped into one is difficult for a parent to deal with, but it makes him who he is. I don't care where his talents are or aren't, all I want for him is to be happy and to have fun!! That kid is wise beyond his years and has far too many worries and concerns than one little four year old should have. And man alive, he did have some pretty mad basketball skills! His form was amazing, and he perfected his shot. He was sure he was good enough to play on Hunter's high school team :)
