MN State Fair 2011

We took our annual trip to the State Fair on Tuesday. It was a bit chilly, and a bit wet at times, but we still had a good time. And the boys had a GREAT time! Hudsy wanted to go back today.

They rode on all the rides they were tall enough for.

Some were so interesting that they couldn't even glance over for a picture!

Hudsy showing Pax the ropes and how to beep the horn.

Hudson even rode the rides that made Mommy a little nervous! This big pirate ship was his favorite. He rode with Hunter, laughing and screaming outloud!

We walked through the Children's Barnyard. They boys looked adorable in the aprons.

Hudson says his favorite part was squeezing the milk out of the cows.

The fair takes a lot out of my boys.

Hudson's last request was to go on the Sky Ride. Grandma and Mommy were a little nervous but the boys thought it was great, and funny.

Once again, the Minnesota State Fair turns out to be one of our favorite places!

4-Wheeler Rides

I think Hudson enjoys giving his little brother a ride more than Paxton even likes riding!

And Pax gives me one last look that says, "Are you seriously letting him take me away on this thing?"

Late Night Fire

When the sun went down on our fun Saturday afternoon outside with the neighbors, Daddy decided the perfect ending would be a bonfire.

We invited the neighbors over and the boys had so much fun, spending the cool night warming by the fire. Karson and Hudson are becoming the very best of pals!

Preschool Open House

Hudsy had his preschool open house this week. He was a little nervous at first, but by the time we left, he was asking to go back! Daddy and Hudsy had a puppet show for Mommy.

"Help Us Tear Up The Carpet" Party

For our birthdays, my parents gave us new carpet for the basement, much needed new carpet! It was a dirty light blue and while Jamie was tearing it up, he was unfortunately surprised to find an even uglier lime green floral carpet GLUED down underneath! So we invited family over to help tear it up and disguised it as a fish fry! Thank you so much Arnie! Once again, you're my hero!

Pax enjoying his hotdog, onion rings, and BIG garlic toast.
Logie brought the boys neat candy toys.

Go-Karts & Chickens

We went to Grandma Sharon's farm this morning where there's always something "boy-like" to do. Hudson loved riding this go-kart with Daddy! At first he made Daddy promise not to go too fast, but after a couple laps around the yard, he was yelling "I wanna go FAAAAAST Dad!!"

And a few laps after that, they turned the corner and Mommy was surprised to see Hudsy in the driver's seat!
Pax wanted a turn too!

But that didn't keep his attention quite as long as these chickens did! He loved watching them gobble and hobble around.

Tomatoes!!

Our neighbors have a little garden and Hudson has been eyeing the tomatoes, waiting for them to turn from green to red so they can be picked! Today, our neighbor gave him the good news that some of them turned red and she was waiting for him to pick them for her. He RAN to the garden and picked each and every red one. And then, much to my surprise, the boys ate them WHOLE! Like an apple.

Paxton was the biggest fan! He ate TWO! Entirely!
All the neighbor boys enjoying their delicious tomatoes.

Kids Fishing Tournament

It was the annual fishing tournament at the river and our 2nd year of going with the boys. Although they don't do much actual fishing yet, they love it down there and its a great experience for all of us, especially Daddy, fishing with his boys.

Hudsy loved his "cup-o-worms"!

"What Mom, you don't want me digging in the mud with my fingers?"

Waiting for a fish to bite......
Pax and I caught a fish with the Toy Story fishing pole!

Both boys were intrigued by the fish, but not all about touching them.

BROWNIES!!!

Daddy had softball tonight so the boys and I decided to bake some brownies. Hudson has always loved helping in the kitchen, and surprisingly, Paxton patiently observed!

Proud of his work!
Big "smiles" for sweets!

Sunday Funday

The boys were up at the crack of dawn this morning so we piled in a lot of fun! First off, bike ride! Every once in awhile they'd peek out to make sure Mommy was still trailing behind.

Next stop, the park! Paxton was showing me his eyebrows.
Daddy had the great idea of putting the sprinkler under the tramp. Hudson love, love, loved it! Poor Paxton was napping during this fun.

A little break to sit by the fire.

Later on we took a trip to Sibley Park with Grandma and Sheri. Daddy and Pax obliged Mommy and posed for a picture.

Getting a family photo wasn't quite as simple.
