Family

Mommy: It isn't easy getting a family picture, and sad to say, this is actually our first one! I'm always taking pictures of the boys and everyone else, I forget to get myself in a few of them. Hudson is the least cooperative, although he's doesn't try to be. He gets excited when you ask if he wants to take a picture with his brother, but his patience is limited and rarely lasts long enough for a good picture (and it didn't help that we just woke him up from his nap). Its much easier taking them of Paxton since, well, he doesn't move!

Daddy and the boys......

Hudson loves it when Daddy blows bubbles!! Although it doesn't look like Paxton is too impressed.

That's Mommy's boy!

Mommy: I was making supper tonight and all of a sudden noticed it was very quiet in my house full of boys, when I realized Hudson was alone in the living room with Paxton. I snuck in there to find Hudson taking pictures of his brother with his toy camera. He was saying "Smile baby". Hudson already takes after his mom with taking pictures!

Bath time

Paxton: I took a bath in my own bathtub and really liked it!! I kicked my legs and let Mommy wash all over me. I even let Hudson wash my toe-toes!

Bedtime

Mommy: We put Paxton in his own crib tonight for the first time.....but not to sleep overnight!! Mommy is not quite ready for that yet! I'm still very much enjoying watching Paxton sleep right next to me in the little crib. I just figured it was time he got to see where he'll be spending his nights.....eventually. Then he visited Hudson in his crib. Hudson was happy to have company but only for a second. Shortly after this picture, Hudson said "nigh-nigh, out" and tried lifting Paxton out! Nothing comes between Hudson and his nigh-nigh time with his "da-do's" (a.k.a. pacifiers)!!

Tummy Time

Paxton: Am I actually supposed to lift my head during this tummy time nonsense?? I'd rather just lay here and take a nap.

Sunday Night Football

Mommy: We enjoyed the Vikings game (until they lost of course) at the Ahlness'. The guys taught Hudson how to blow in the horns and say "barrrooo". Now its his favorite word! Jamie thought it would be funny to carry Paxton around in the old school Vikings helmet! His exact words were, "Ash, you probably aren't going to like this, but look at what you can do with Paxton." I replied with, "You're right, I don't like it, but let me take a picture first."

First Surgery

Hudson: I had surgery today!! I got tubes put in my ears because I've had a lot of ear infections and my ears were still full of fluid. I was such a brave boy though!! Mommy was way more nervous than me. I made it easier on her by being such a big boy! I never cried; not when I had to put my special jammies on, not when we had to wait an hour for the doctor, not when the nurse took me away, not when they gave me medicine to sleep, and not when I woke up and it was all over!! Mommy and Daddy were SOOOO proud of me! Now I'm all better (hopefully) and my stupid ears (as Mommy calls them) will be as good as new! Thank you to everyone who was thinking of me today!

Another haircut......

Hudson: Ditty cut my hair again tonight. It really needed it. I may not have much, but what I do have sure gets unruly!! This time I sat in the big boy chair with a cape on! Mommy cried because she thought I looked too old. Come on Mom, this was like my 5th haircut, get over it already! And......I didn't last all that long in the big boy chair anyway. See, they thought I'd forget, but I specifically remember that everytime I get my hair cut, I also get a sucker, so until that sucker was in my hand, I wasn't sitting still for nobody! Ditty gave me a "fohawk" when she was all done. Like the finished product?!?!

Fun with Cousins

Hudson: Grandma Sharon came over to our house to visit and she brought Great Aunt Jane to meet Paxton. My cousins, Declyn and Morgan came with too. I was very excited to show them my toy room! We had a lot of fun playing. Daddy says the whole neighborhood could probably hear me laughing!

Snowman Hat

Paxton: Me and Mommy were home alone today so we had a mini-photo shoot. Ditty bought me this cute snowman hat (Hunter picked it out).

First Bath

Paxton: I had my first real bath in the bathroom sink last night. Mommy has been waiting for my umbilical cord to fall off so I could dive in. I was like a fish in my bath, kicking my legs. I kind of liked it, until I had to get out, then I got cold. Mommy says since I did such a good job, next time I'll go in my own bathtub!

Sharing with Brother

Hudson: I love putting change in my piggy bank, (Again, thanks to Daddy for leaving it in his pant pockets when the laundry is done!!!! He should learn by now that we steal it then!) but now Mommy says I have to share it with Paxton. So I was nice enough to put half of it in his piggy/car bank. Such a nice big brother I am!

"Look here boys!"

Mommy: Nope....... still can't get that perfect picture of the boys!

Little Brother-Big Brother

Mommy: It is amazing how big Hudson looks now compared to Paxton! My big boy is growing up so fast. In fact, in the last month, he has grown an inch taller!

Logie's Game

Paxton: I went to my first basketball game! Logie had a home game tonight and I cheered her on! Okay, truth be told, I slept through the whole thing, but I was dreaming that she'd make a lot of points!

Cupcake!!

Mommy: Hudson loves playing with his kitchen, and his favorite part of his kitchen are the cupcakes and hotdogs. Whenever anyone asks for a hotdog, he runs as fast as he can into his toy room and you can hear the grill fire up! He's a very smart boy! Tonight he decided to bake some cupcakes and thought Paxton should have one, and he needed a spoon too. It was very cute to see Hudson playing with his little brother. I'm a proud Mommy!

Rainforest

Paxton: I love, love, love my light up rainforest! Actually, it was my brother's and he liked it too, but not quite as much as me! I could stare at it all day long. I cry everytime it shuts off. Mommy wishes it would last longer than a few minutes. She says it'd make her life lots easier. Easier??? I sleep almost all day and all night, like its really that tough on her to get up and turn my rainforest back on? Come on Mom!!!! She finally got smart and brought it upstairs to my crib at night too. So now for the short periods of time I am awake at night, I just watch my rainforest and she can go back to sleep. No wonder Mommy calls me her angel baby (as opposed to what she called my brother, Monster)!!

Baby Hudson???

Hudson: Maddi thought it would be funny to pretend I was a baby like my brother and still drank a bottle. Then she thought it'd be even funnier to burp me like my brother! Well, I'm a great burper and gave her a big one!!!!

Puppy Snacks

Hudson: Maddi brought her new puppy, Nala to supper tonight and I gave her some puppy treats and she licked my fingers. I think I fed her too much though because later I was having some pretzels and she expected me to give her some, but I DO NOT like to share and I tried to kick her away. Nobody takes food from me!

Multitasking......

Mommy: Already getting used to having 2 kids! Multitasking Mama--feeding Hudson, holding Paxton, and eating myself!
P.S. Notice my husband in the background (on the left) JUST feeding himself! :)

Mr. & Mrs. Johnson.....in 2035

Mommy: Paxton was finally able to meet the love of his life, Ms. Brenley Nordby!!! Meredith and I were proud Mommies, and pretty sure we could tell it was love at first sight (although, I'm not sure Paxton ever opened his eyes)!

Meeting Cousins

Mommy: Ryan and Liz brought the girls to meet Paxton over the weekend. Regan absolutely loved holding him. I think she sat on the couch with him for an hour! She also helped Hunter feed him his bottle. Such a good helper! She said she'd like to take him home but only if he were a girl, not a boy! Thanks Friederich's for visiting us!

Eyes Open!

Paxton: Hi everyone!!! Mommy just wanted me to say hello because I have my eyes WIDE open and that rarely happens! I'm usually snoozing the days and nights away!

Matching Jammies!!

Mommy: Taking a picture of the boys together isn't as easy as it may seem. Hudson is very happy to hold his little brother, he just isn't very good at it yet. We asked Hudson to hold him and he grabbed onto his poor little head. Paxton didn't seem to mind though, he just sat there like the angel baby he is!
P.S. Daddy wants everyone to know that he did NOT approve of these jammies!

Tractor

Hudson: Grandpa gave me this cool tractor, just like the one he drives! He says its worth a lot of money so I thought I'd clean it up a bit, wash the tires (with my brother's rag!!!) and make it shiny. Grandpa would be so proud!

Brothers

Hudson: Me and my brother were just chilling on the couch. Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma laughed really hard when they told me to hug my brother and I threw my arm around him.

Paxton's Room

Paxton: Just wanted to show off my room. I'm not sleeping in it quite yet though. Mommy and Daddy want me close by so I sleep in their room in a little crib (the family heirloom crib). I sure am excited to move into my very own room though......whenever Mommy lets me!

The Johnson's Go Out

Mommy: It was our first outing as a family of 4 (to Auntie Sheri's for Wednesday night supper) and I had to take a picture of my 2 boys sharing the backseat of the van! They take up a lot of room with their carseats but I'm still able to squeeze in between them for emergency feedings, snacks, book reading, or nuk replacing!!

A little help from Hudson.....

Hudson: I was showing Paxton all of the cool stuff he can do. I was never a fan of the swing but I think he'll like it more than me, especially if I push him REALLY high!! And the chair is brand new from the Ahlness'. I've crawled in it a few times and think its pretty comfy. I showed him how to grab the toys to start the music but his arms aren't long enough yet, so until then, I'll be a good big brother and help him out.

Baby Comparison

Mommy: Here are our two babies. They sure do resemble one another! The first picture is Paxton on his first day in this world. The second picture is Hudson on his third day. Paxton seems so tiny to me, but really he is bigger than Hudson was. Paxton was 7 lbs. 11 3/4 oz and Hudson was 7 lbs. 4 3/4 oz. and both were 20 1/2 inches......not much difference. Paxton has longer hair than Hudson did, but they both have that all too familiar "Johnson cowlick" from Daddy! Both boys are beautiful and perfect! At least in the eyes of their Mommy and Daddy.

Screaming Boys!

Mommy: I think my boys have something in common; their dislike of sponge baths! The top baby is Hudson, and the bottom Paxton.

Thank goodness for Hunter!

Hudson: Hunter has made this transition in my life much easier!! She has come by everyday to play with me. We dance, run around, play kitchen, and have snacks. I am so grateful to have her, she's one of my best buddies!

Sleepy Baby

Paxton: Mommy says this picture describes me best......sleeping! What can I say, I was kicking and rolling in my mommy's belly for 9 months, I need a little rest. Mommy tries to keep me up during the day but it isn't an easy task. I still sleep at night though too, just get up when I'm hungry (which Mommy isn't complaining about). Thats basically the only time anyone sees my eyes.

Me, Maddi, and Zevie

Hudson: This is me in all my enthusiasm on New Year's Eve!! I made it up until midnight and gave everyone a smooch! Maddi and Zevie were reading books to me. I was showing off all my skills, telling them what the animals on the farm say.
