Life with Boys

After running around the house a million times chasing eachother, Jamie holding a bobbing, laughing Paxton, they all crashed onto the living room floor. Only to rest a bit before getting up for more! Mommy watched from the couch!

Couldn't quite reach......

Our little monkey wanted a toy on the end table so he just decided to climb up the diaper caddy and grab it himself!

One Last Swim

We headed out to Flandrau for our last time this summer. Hudson and Paxton enjoyed most of the afternoon in this little homemade pool by Auntie Sheri. It was perfect size!

Strange Kid......

There's obviously something about this dinosaur ride at the State Fair that makes Hudson want to ride with his arm behind the seat???? Weirdo!

MN State Fair 2010

We braved the heat and the crowds to go the Minnesota State Fair on Friday. Both boys enjoyed all the sights and food! Hudson's favorites were mini donuts and frozen mango lemonade push-up. Paxton's were french fries, Dippin' Dots, and frozen lemonade. We missed Daddy at the fair this year, he was home sick. But somehow we still managed to have lots of fun! ;)
Thank you to the Nordby's for borrowing us their side-by-side stroller! It worked out great!
Hudson was more than excited to see SpongeBob at the fair!
And he loved the merry-go-round!
Wasn't quite as sure about these noisy motorcycles but still tried them out.
But his favorite was the Giant Slide! We went down twice. I overheard the kids behind us counting the steps as we went up.....90 of them! Picture me, holding a 2 year old and an itchy mat, climbing 90 steps, in 90 degree heat, between about 90 people!!
LOVING their frozen push-ups!!!!! They both finished them on their own!
Hudson pet all the animals!
Shane and Paxton. He says he's ALMOST as cool as Hudson!

I'm 8 months old today!!

And everything still goes in his mouth!

Bye-Bye Logie........

Our Logie is leaving for school at Bethel in St. Paul. We are SOOOOOOOOO sad that she's leaving, but so proud of her for going! We enjoyed such a great summer with her and spent lots of precious time together. She played with Hudson for countless hours, and snuggled Paxton when he needed her. I think Hudson will forever think she sleeps in our spare bedroom.....we wish! We love you Logie and we're going to miss you so much!

I'm a big boy now!

Paxton has joined us at the table in restaurants now and sits in a big boy high chair! He was such a happy boy, enjoying yogurt melts! Much easier for Mommy to enjoy her meals as well! I cannot believe how fast he's growing up! He has been crawling for almost 2 months now, pulling himself up onto everything and then walking around, and now can climb up steps!! We just don't know what to do with him! He's hard to keep up with!

Pool Party

Ryan, Liz, Regan, and Sidney invited all of our family up for a pool party. Probably our last dip in the pool for the summer. Thanks for all the fun times! We look forward to next year.
Paxton enjoying the floatie.
Hudson and Sidney "mowed the lawn" for most of the afternoon.
Big boy swing!! With an orange pop mustache!
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's a Daddy!!! Leave it to Dad to be the biggest kid in the pool!

Finally Paxton's Turn!!

Paxton finally got his chance to pick on his big brother!! And he loved every minute of it. Hudson was actually a pretty good sport too. I'm afraid Hudson better get used to this because Paxton is growing fast and will be catching up to him pretty quickly!

Smart 2 year old + Weak Mommy = Yellow Cupcakes!!

This is what happens when Hudson and Mommy go to the grocery store. We were rounding the corner to the bakery and the conversation went like this......
Hudson: Ha!! Buzz and Woody are on them yellow cupcakes Mommy!
Mommy: Yes, I see Buzz and Woody.
Hudson: You want them yellow cupcakes Mommy?
Mommy: No, Mommy doesn't want any.
Hudson: Hudsy wants them yellow cupcakes.
Mommy: We are going to have lunch when we get home.
Hudson: Hudsy have lunch first, then have the yellow cupcakes.
Mommy: Thats what you say but then you never eat your lunch.
Hudson: Give you a kiss Mommy. Now Hudsy have the yellow cupcakes. I spose!
He gets me every time!!! At only 2 years old, he already knows just how to manipulate Mommy! It is way to early for that!

Time Out?

Does this look like the face of a little boy who sometimes gets time outs? YEP!!!
But the effectiveness of time outs has sort of worn off!

Mommy's NEW favorite jammies......

Playing Together

Such a big smile because Hudson was pushing him around.

Watching a movie in the toy room.
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE watching Hudson and Paxton play together?!?!?! And how PROUD I am of Hudson for how good he plays with his baby brother. Paxton follows Hudson everywhere, so into the toy room they go. I like to listen at the door and hear things like, "Good job Brother!" or "You did it all by yourself Brother!" or " Let's play this Brother." or my personal favorite "Stay Brother. No, come back Brother. Stay right there, or I'll sit on you!" And I think I can speak for my mom and Vicky when I say we all got tears in our eyes when we listened to Hudson sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to a sleeping Paxton as he rubbed his head. How sweet!

"Carson's here!"

Carson came to hang out with Hudson and Paxton today. Mommy got a little taste of what having rambunctious, sweaty boys is going to be like.....yikes!

Sleepy Eye Water Park

Tuesday was our first trip out to Sleepy Eye Water Park. It's too bad we waited so long to go because it was a lot of fun! Hudson surprised us all by going down the big slide with Mommy and LOVING it!!! My legs felt like jell-o for how many times he made me climb those stairs! I would tell him "one more time" but he'd say "Not one more time Mommy, lots more times!" He's pretty convincing!

Napping......

And after all that playing, Paxton was wiped out! I put him down for his nap awake and when I checked in on him, he was asleep like this. All snuggled in, hunched over his blankie and puppy. Too cute, but I had to move him.

ToYs!!!

Paxton is moving around like crazy these days!! He never stays in the same spot for too long, crawling around everywhere! Room to room around the house! He even crawls into the toy room to play toys. He's so much fun, but growing way too fast!

Thanks Regan & Sidney (and Ryan & Liz too)!!

The Johnson's visited the Friederich's on Sunday and the kids had a blast playing together, in and out of the pool.

Regan, Hudson, and Sidney enjoying the swing.
Hudson pretending to use Sidney's potty chair. He still says "NO" to the toilet.
Hudson and Daddy swimming. Hudson was trying his best to stay afloat with Sidney's life jacket.
Our little "Johnson Creation" #2.
Paxton always gets a lot of love from Regan and Sidney. Even his toes!
