Happy 5 Months!!!

Our little baby boy is 5 months old today!! Paxton is growing so much, taller but not chubbier! Clothes fit in length but not width! Complete opposite of Hudson. I think Paxton has changed so much from 4 to 5 months. He's less of a Mama's boy, although would still prefer me. Lots more smiling and talking, rolling around everywhere, lifts his head up so high, and even rocks onto his knees. He's loving his cereal and even better, his sweet potatoes. He's enjoying playing with toys a little more, but his hands are still his favorite thing to suck on!

LOGIE!!!!

We're getting in our "Logie Fix" before she goes off to college in St. Paul!! Hudson absolutely loves playing with her! He was trying to pull her off the couch, yelling, "Play Logie, PLAY!!!"
Logie pulled his pants down and sang, "Pants on the ground. Pants on the ground. Lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground."
And with no pants on, right before bedtime, Hudson just had to go out for one more round on the swings!

Then came in and played with Logie's hair.

We (and when I say we, I mean "I") did it!!!

Paxton and I tackled Center Street hill and we made it!!! Hudson is playing with his friends at daycare today so I thought I'd try the big hill with just the single stroller and one baby, just to make sure I could do it. We met a friend, Kari and her kids at the bottom at Harman Park and Paxton enjoyed swinging! He stayed in the swing for almost an hour, just happily swaying back and forth! I'm actually looking forward to trying it out with Hudson next time....and a little scared too!

Logie's last softball game.....

We went to Logie's last high school softball game. Luckily, she's playing ball in college so we'll get to watch her lots more because Hudson is getting really good at cheering, "Yay Logie!". Unfortunately, the gorgeous day turned into a chilly evening but we sat it out til the end. In the first picture, I asked Hudson what he was doing and he said "pooping". I continue to ask him if he wants to go on the big boy toilet but he quite sternly refuses.

Bath time.......

Bath time at the Johnson house...out with one boy, in with the other! Daddy was on vacation and now he's working nights so I'm getting quite good at bathing the boys by myself. I can't wait until they can go in together but in order to prevent a drowning, we'll do them separate for now! Paxton was still excited and wanting to splash around as you can tell by his face, and Hudsy is giving his version of a fishy face.

SWEET POTATOES!!!!

Paxton got sweet potatoes for the first time and they were a messy hit!! By the looks of his huge smile and messy face, he thought they were the best thing he's ever tasted....you know, compared to formula and cereal! And he was so excited that he was laughing and spitting, giving Mommy a sweet potato shower. Hudson was quick to scold him, first telling Mommy, "Spitting naughty!" and I told him that yes, he was right, spitting is naughty. So he then turned to Paxton and said, "No spitting kay?!". It was SO CUTE!! Almost as though he was warning him to stop or else Mommy will yell at him. After the meal, Hudson decided to give his brother a ride in his chair and Paxton laughed like crazy!!! Mommy on the other hand was worried those orange sweet potatoes were going to make their way back up and all over Hudsy!

Grandma Sharon's House

When Daddy got home on Sunday, we went out to Grandma Sharon's house and Hudson had a blast! There were baby kittens that Hudsy made friends with, literally, he MADE them be his friend, by torture! He also fed the hamster, against Mommy's better judgement! He's much braver than me, putting his hand in that cage! And his cousins gave him plenty of sugar, blue sugar to make his entire mouth change color! And Paxton was just happy eating his own hands, like always!

"I can Mommy!"

I gave Hudsy a Sesame Street "HUDSON" pillow for his crib and he was very excited and wanted to bring it upstairs all by himself! "I can Mommy!" he said to me, and every time I tried to help him his "I can Mommy!" got a little louder and a little more serious!

He tried with all his might to throw the pillow in!

Which caused A LOT of giggling!!!

But he finally succeeded and celebrated with a big YAY!!!!
And it made nap time all that much sweeter!

A/C

I broke down and turned on the air conditioning for the first time. It is roasting upstairs and the poor boys (and myself!!) have to sleep up there! Hudson was extremely amused by this. He carried his chair all the way from the toy room, pushed it right up to the hallway vent (apparently he overlooked the vent IN his toy room, right next to his table and chairs none the less!), and put his toes up! He yells to me "Cold air blow Mommy!". And just when he got comfortable, it shut off. "Cold air all done" and he picks up his chair, returns it to his toy room, and goes on to something else.

Diaper Boys

Hudson had to be bribed with a snack to take this picture (you can see the lack of excitement in his face), but I thought since they were both running loose in their diapers, it'd be a good time for a picture. It seems as though Paxton is growing like a weed, and Hudson maybe a little chubbier with all that junk he eats!

Fingerpainting!!!

We expected to see sun this morning, but all Hudson saw out the window was "raining out alot"! We still wanted to do something fun, so Mommy brought out the fingerpaints! Hudson had alot of fun making lots of paintings, and alot of mess! He's my boy though and knew he was messy and wanted to get all cleaned up when he was finished!

Who knew fingerpainting took so much concentration!?!?

Kisses for Baby Brother

Hudson sure can be a nice big brother....when he wants to be!!

Playtime with Logie.....

We are so lucky to have Logie. She comes during the day on her break from school and Hudson loves getting in an hour or 2 of nonstop playtime with her! I think since prom though, he expects her to wear her dress everyday because he always asks if Logie will be wearing her "pitty dess"(a.k.a. pretty dress). Yesterday was beautiful so they played outside, but on this gloomy day we had to resort to coloring on the windows. We sure will miss her when she goes off to college in St. Paul! She'll be especially missed by my boys!

TOES!!

Paxton found his toes and loves them!

Off to Hawaii???

We wish we were going to Hawaii!! Grandma just brought this lei home from a bridal shower. I showed Hudson this picture and tried explaining to him that THIS was the smile I wanted him to give me all the time, but as soon as the word "smile" came out of my mouth, he gave me the original, famous, almost frightening smile and this precious one went out the door.

Buh-bye Daddy

Daddy left for his annual fishing trip to Leech Lake and he'll be gone until Sunday. As we were tucking Hudson in Tuesday night, Daddy was telling him that he'd be leaving to go fishing for a few days and he's sad because he won't see him for awhile, and he went on and on. Hudson looked up at me with this scared little look like, "What's happening, where are you going?". I told Daddy to wrap it up, and I assured him Mommy would be here when he wakes up! Silly Daddy, and part of me believes Daddy just wanted poor little Hudsy to get sad and miss his Daddy. Okay.......so we do miss him!

"Ewwww Baby Brother!!"

I was taking pictures of Paxton on the couch when big brother came running in saying "Hudsy camera too Mommy!" So Hudson jumps up and Paxton grabs a hold of him..........
And Hudsy says, "Ewww Baby Brother!", and starts wiping his hand. I asked him what happened and he said, "Baby Brother lick, wet". I guess he's not a big fan of slobber!
But he decided to be nice to Baby Brother and snuggle in anyway! (P.S. Hudson always calls Paxton "Baby Brother", never by his name.)

Hudson's a hoot!!

Everyday, for one reason or another, we are laughing at Hudson, saying what a hoot he is! He really is one of a kind! At Logie's softball game today, Maddi (of course, who else!?!?!) got him to believe that her phone was broken and would only work if he plugged the charger into his belly button. She even had her phone ring when it was "plugged in"! Hudson thought he was magic! Then later, out to eat at the Mexican restaurant, we were getting seated by the waiter, and out of nowhere Hudson says to him, "Hola!". We all looked at eachother in disbelief, and the waiter laughed and said, "Hola amigo!". We eat there so much, my almost 2 year old is starting to become bilingual! His daily dose of Handy Manny helps his spanish as well!

Cute Boys?????

Although this picture doesn't show how cute my boys are, it shows their most favorite faces!! Paxton blowing bubbles, air, spit??? We're not quite sure what he's always trying to do with that face? And Hudson showing off his famous smile! No matter what I do, or how nicely I ask for a sweet smile, that is what I get! But seriously, these 2 boys are adorable.....most of the time!

New Friends......

We had the opportunity to spend the day with Meredith's cousins; Claire and Everett. They needed a back up daycare and Hudsy always loves having friends over! Thankfully Daddy had to work because Hudsy kind of liked playing with Claire's toy My Little Pony! Since it was such a beautiful day, we had a picnic lunch on the deck, and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon outside. I think Hudsy and Everett brought all the sand from the sandbox back in the house! And Claire didn't believe I could push all 3 of them on the swings at the same time but I proved her wrong! And they all wanted to go HIGHER! Paxton hung out with us too, even enjoyed our picnic on the deck, he's just out of the picture to the right......and he rested in the stroller under the swing set, just out of the picture to the right....but he was there, I promise! We get another chance to hang out with the kids in June, can't wait!!!

We climbed Herman!!

Mommy and Hudson at the bottom of Herman the German.
All the way at the top, Hudson reached so high and wanted to touch Herman's foot.
Hold on tight!!
Paxton stayed safely on the ground!!
