scooby-doo weekend

Jamie and I took the boys to see Scooby-Doo Live last Thursday. At the last minute we decided to make it an overnight getaway and stayed the night in a hotel. Two things the boys love; Scooby-Doo and a hotel, so this was a special treat. All done without Sister, she stayed home with Grandma and Aunt Ditty.
Our fun started with a dinner stop at Chili's.
Chili's was Hudson's pick and favorite place to go, all for the corn on the cob!
The boys LOVED Scooby-Doo Live! They paid attention the whole time, waiting for the ghost to appear, and then trying to figure out who the ghost was.
We're big fans!
The next morning we woke up and hopped straight in the pool. They spent every minute they could swimming, with the pool all to themselves.
They played "spy boats" with their spy goggles, swimming in their inflatable boats on the search for fish and sharks. Jamie and I sat back and watched how well they play together, listening to what their little imaginations can come up with. Paxton follows Hudson's every move and listens to his every order. And although they seem to be the best of friends, Hudson definitely takes the older brother role and knows very well that his younger brother will do whatever he says. I can't say enough how thankful I am that they have each other, a built in best friend for life.
We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe so Pax could see if he was still afraid of the monkeys like he was over a year ago. Nope, he's tough now. I still remember it like it was yesterday, being there with him and he had to sit on my lap the whole time and said, "Mommy, those monkeys are looking at me" in the sweetest little voice. I kind of hate that they're growing up and getting brave.
Our last stop was at Build-a-Bear where they both chose to build a dinosaur. They thoroughly loved doing this and those dinosaurs have become a part of our family now.
Meet Dino and Stompie.
And there's no better way to end a little getaway, then to come home to this sweet girl. She says she didn't miss me, but I'm choosing to believe that she did.
